Behind My Art
I am Tatiana, an artist and feltmaker. In my studio, wool becomes colour, movement and texture: creations imagined to be worn, touched and cherished for years to come.

From Teaching to Working with Material
Before becoming a feltmaker, I taught visual arts for many years. Painting, drawing, composition, colour and the work of my hands have always been part of my life. This experience shaped my eye: it taught me to observe, to share what I know, and to let an idea take shape, step by step.
Originally from Ukraine and living in France since 2022, I found in felting a universal language. Wool offered me another way of creating: more tactile, more unhurried, closer to the living material itself. For more than ten years, I have explored its possibilities with the same sense of curiosity.
My Encounter with Felt
I love the moment when simple fibres gradually become a textile. Water, soap, warmth and movement bring the wool together and transform it. The process calls for patience, but it also holds beautiful surprises: a new shade appears, a texture reveals itself, a shape naturally finds its balance.
Felt is often imagined as something thick or rustic. I seek instead to reveal its delicacy, lightness and sensuality. Depending on how the fibres are worked, it can become almost transparent, light and airy as a veil, or enveloping and warm.

My beautiful encounter.
Tactile and warm, surprising yet perfectly balanced,
I love it!
Creating with Colour, Wool and Silk
My creations are born from a dialogue between fibres. I love combining merino wool with silk and other natural materials, playing with texture, transparency and contrast. Each piece begins with an intention, a colour, sometimes the memory of a landscape or the emotion of a painting.
Scarves hold a special place in my work. Some are inspired by the light and colours of Impressionist painting; others echo the lines and elegance of Art Deco. Openwork creations reveal a lighter, more playful side of felt, even in the warmer months.
Creating with felt means bringing to life a piece unlike any other: a meeting of gesture, colour and the freedom of the fibre.
Sharing, Exhibiting, Passing It On
My background as a teacher remains at the heart of my practice. I love sharing the gestures of felting, guiding first discoveries and watching each person find their own expression. I lead workshops for adults and children, individually or in groups, in a simple, attentive and creative atmosphere.
Since 2019, my creations have travelled through exhibitions and craft fairs, in Ukraine as well as in France. These encounters with the public are precious: they allow me to talk about handmade work, let people discover the feel of the material, and show that contemporary felt can be delicate, artistic and truly alive.

Another step through the paperwork, new discoveries, and the desire to grow something that feels truly like me.
A French Adventure Too!
In June 2025, I created my micro-enterprise in France to give this adventure a framework and help yARTka grow. It is a craft project, but also a project of connection: between my roots, my experience, the people who wear my creations and those who come to learn alongside me.
Pieces to Wear, Stories to Share
Each creation is shaped slowly, with the desire to offer a textile that is unique, enduring and deeply personal.
